The Weighing Game

Should we weigh ourselves, and if so, how often is enough? At DietDitch, while we think it is important to know your numbers, there has to be a balance. It is prudent to know what you weigh, and more importantly, your waist size, but the last thing we want is for you to become a scale addict.

Supermarket Pitfalls

The modern day supermarket seems to be more about advertising gimmicks and specials than it is about fresh natural produce. Gosh the supermarkets have changed since my grandmothers’ day when there was no obesity epidemic.

Water, Natures Wonder Drink

There seems to be so much info on drinking water and how it flushes out bodily toxins, helps stop hunger pains and keeps our skin clear, but do we really need to drink 8 x 8 oz glasses of water each and every day?

At DietDitch we think it is a good idea, and if you are obese or have morbid obesity, (defined as having a BMI over 35) we think you may need more water than a person who has a correct weight to height ratio. Also if you are hitting the gym and going for power walks where you sweat a lot, try adding a couple of additional glasses, but be sure to sip it throughout the day rather than doing the gulp and guzzle.

Goal Setting

Studies show that if we set SMART goals we are much more likely to succeed in anything we are doing.

Goal setting is something most of us do from time to time – New Year resolutions are made by millions of people on the planet every year and resolutions to live a healthy lifestyle are right at the top of the list.

Give Me 30

This is one of the best ways to get some exercise into your day without really doing lots of work. It is like having an exercise ‘snack’. It is called Give Me 30 – the name says it all. All you have to do is stop 3 times a day and give me 10 – as in reps.

Working out this way is fun and takes no time at all, so if you have limited time in your day, you may want to stop and give me 30.
